16/10/1396H (corresponding to 9/9/1976H.), the third Issue of Saudi Banknotes was put in circulation during the Reign of King Khalid Bin Abdulaziz.

Obverse: Contains a view of the Holy Mosque in Makka. In the middle at the top appears the name of SAMA and the value of the note in Arabic. To the right is a Portrait of King Abdul-Aziz.
Reverse: Contains an external view of al-Mas'a (next to the Holy Mosque of Makka).
