Obverse: On the left, Minerva accompanied by symbols of the economy and labour with a lion symbolising Belgium at her feet. On the right, the heraldic lion with symbols of war.
Reverse: Ornate design and depictions of Coats of arms of the 39 Belgian cities. The banknote face value is printed in words and with the numerical indication of the denomination - 20 Franken.
The 1894 series of the 20 franc note was the first Belgian banknote printed in four colours.
Watermark: Head of Ceres.
